A summer holiday with countless things to do in Meransen with the Almencard

A summer holiday with countless things to do in Meransen with the Almencard

If you are planning to spend your summer holiday on the Walderhof farm in Meransen, there are countless ways to pass the time. The Almencard, which you receive from us as our guests, is your passport to pleasure in general. It grants free access to the chair lifts at Gitschberg and Jochtal from 9 May to 12 July 2024 and from 16 September to 2 November 2024. You can also take part in a range of guided hikes. There is no reason to use your car here, which you can park without a care at the farm and forget about it until it is time to go home.

Our holiday region offers something for all the family. You can hop from hut to hut, or strike out the summits on longer trips. The Altfasstal is a short walk away, and is a place for superb hikes through forests and across meadows that is also suited to small children. For the gastronomes among our guests, there are a few places for refreshment along the way. A heavenly sport is the Seefeldseen, a collection of lakes embedded in the mountain world and an outstanding place to walk. You must take in a visit to the Fane Alm above Vals. This meadow village takes you back in time. Mountain hares can carry on up to the Brixner Hütte from here, the Wilden See or even the Wilde Kreuzspitze, which is the region’s highest peak at 3123m.

If you are not feeling inspired to walk, there is always the option to enjoy a relaxing day in the Alpinpool Meransen, a swimming complex. The Walderhof has an agreement that gives our guests a dramatic reduction on the entry price. Alongside the pool area and children’s swimming area, there is a generous sauna area with a view of the Dolomites all around, and a small bistro. For those with a taste for something larger, there is the Acquarena in Brixen. This complex has a large pool both inside and outside, a meadow with a play area, water slides and a range of saunas, and a spa centre. And if you fancy swimming in a mountain lake, there is the Vahrner See or Montiggler and Kalterer See in the surrounding area.
